New Measures for 2020–2021
As a consequence of budget cuts and staff attrition —i.e. the loss of two communications officers, a web editor, and a web developer, as well as several part-timers and freelancers— this year Stratcom has been forced to make certain changes in order to continue to serve the university effectively. Below is a summary of the measures adopted as of fall 2020.
Priorities
As the university navigates an unprecedented financial crisis, Stratcom will prioritize projects conducive to significant revenue generation (i.e. student recruitment and fundraising) as well as reputation building.
Top Priority Accounts
- President’s Office
- University Advancement
- Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing
- Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine
- School of Arts & Sciences
- School of Pharmacy
- Adnan Kassar School of Business
- Graduate Studies and Research
- School of Engineering
- School of Architecture & Design
- Development Office
- Enrollment Management
- Office of International Services
Workload-Related Measures
Our dedicated staff will do its utmost to serve the university’s most important needs effectively despite the present challenges. To that end, it is imperative that our team carefully selects the projects it embarks on week after week. These guidelines will be followed when assessing incoming requests:
- No more than seven simultaneous projects per staff member
- Work that significantly impacts revenue generation will be prioritized
- Reputation-enhancing projects will be given second priority
- We regret that last-minute requests cannot be fulfilled
- Tasks that are outside Stratcom’s purview will be turned down
- Staff members will emphasize strategic and efficient use of their time
Stratcom appreciates the community’s patience and understanding in these difficult times.
