| Did You Know?People suffering from cholera, an acute diarrheal infection, can lose up to 20 liters of body fluid a day in severe cases. The disease is caused by a bacteria, Vibrio cholerae, that is transmitted in contaminated water and food. Of the confirmed and suspected cases in Lebanon, 45 percent are under the age of 15, of which 25 percent are below 4 years of age.
