LAU made a leap into a higher bracket out of 18,000 universities worldwide and placed at No.2 in Lebanon in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023
LAU’s scholarly output has increased significantly over the past 25 years, following a concerted institutional strategy to raise the university’s research stature.
The Gezairi building, home of the School of Architecture and Design, was inaugurated in the presence of owner and CEO of Gezairi Transport Company Mona Bawarshi, and other dignitaries and friends of LAU.
According to research, more than 800 million people suffer from hunger when enough food is being produced to feed the global population. Why? Because one-third of that food is either wasted or lost every year, and 61 percent of this waste happens in households. In Beirut alone, an estimated 1,620 tons of food are wasted annually by people dining out, a collaborative research paper between LAU and AUB faculty revealed. But a change in consumers’ behavior can go a long way toward reducing food insecurity.
An MS in International Construction Management, an MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence, a Certificate in Cybersecurity and a Certificate in AI and Data Science will launch in early 2023.
The new student council for 2023 consists of 30 students who will go on to be the voices of their peers and benefit from the experience for years to come.
