LAU has made strides in the Times Higher Education Asia Universities Rankings 2025, placing at No. 92 out of 853 universities, with notable improvement in the Teaching indicator.

Six LAU faculty members made the top 0.05 percent of Highly Ranked Faculty by ScholarGPS, an academic analytics platform, for their contributions to cancer-cell research, cryptocurrency, mathematics and sales, among others.

Senior marketing students at the LAU Adnan Kassar School of Business outshone 15 university teams across Lebanon to take first place in the L’Oréal Brandstorm 2025 National Finals for their innovative project. 

The latest crown jewel of a 20-year-long partnership between LAU and the Al Waleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation was the inauguration of the Mona Riad El Solh Intensive Care Unit at the LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital, led by the foundation’s Vice President Leila El Solh Hamade.

Alumnus Zak Kassas (BE ’01), a world-renowned scholar and expert in transportation, spoke to his alma mater about the future of the field and the roots of his interest in GPS, which all began in Zakhem Hall. 

Amplifying women’s voices through storytelling, the Arab Institute for Women (AiW) held its inaugural TEDxLAU Women, featuring 18 inspiring speakers from Lebanon and the region. 

In collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute, the School of Architecture and Design hosted a symposium and exhibit on alternative ecological, natural and biotechnological materials for sustainable, post-war reconstruction in Lebanon.

The LAU community came together in defiance, “even when the ground beneath is anything but stable,” at the 15th International Dance Day Festival in Lebanon, which featured auditions, intensive workshops and performances.
